Thermal mechanism of wave damping in a gas-liquid mixture

Abstract:The effect of interphase heat transfer on the process of propagation of a wave in a monodisperse gas-liquid mixture is investigated. A three-wave equation of the Boussinesq type is derived and formulas for the dependence of the thermal components of the dissipative coefficients on the thermophysical parameters of the mixture are obtained. The limits of applicability of the short-wave method are determined. The theoretical and experimental values of the phase wave velocity are compared and found to be in good agreement.Yerevan.
