Potentiometric studies on the complexation equilibria between La(III), Pr(III), Nd(III), Gd(III), Sm(III), Tb(III), Dy(III), Ho(III) and 2-acetylpyridinethiosemicarbazone (2-apt)

Abstract:Complex formation between trivalent La, Pr, Nd, Gd, Sm, Tb, Dy, Ho and 2-acetylpyridinethiosemicarbazone has been investigated by potentiometric measurements at 25°C and in 0.02 M, 0.05 M, 0.1 M and 0.2 M (NaClO4) ionic strengths. The stability constants of the complexes formed have been determined and correlated to the size and ionic potentials of the metal ions.
