Abstract: | The i.r. spectra of triple orthovanadates, MIBaCr2(VO4)3 (where, MI = Li, Na or Ag) with orthorhombically distorted langbeinite structure have been obtained in the region 4000-200 cm−1 and are interpreted in terms of the internal vibrations of VO4 tetrahedra and CrO6 octahedra. The presence of CrO6 octahedra is further confirmed using diffused reflectance spectral technique. |
