Abstract:By using both work and waste heat of the diesel engine, an integrated absorptioncompression cycle is proposed and analyzed. The performance of this cycle is comparedwith those of conventional vapor compression refrigeration cycle and direct-fired absorptionrefrigeration cycle. The results indicate that, due to effective utilization of different gradeheat energy and reduction of irreversible loss, a COP improvement of 19% and 58%, respectively over conventional compression system with R22 as working fluid and direct-firedlithium-bromide absorption system, can be accomplished.
