Abstract: | The present paper examines the problem of the complete indentation of the surface of a penny-shaped crack by a smooth rigid disc inclusion. The integral equation governing the problem is solved numerically to evaluate the axial stiffness of the rigid inclusion and the stress intensity factors at the tip of the penny-shaped crack. |
