| Abstract: | Let I be an ideal of a Noetherian ring R and let S be a multiplicatively closed subset of R. We define the n-th (S)-symbolic power of 7 as S(In) = InRs ∩R. The purpose of this paper is to compare the topologies defined by the adic {In}n≤0 and the (S)-symbolic filtration {S(In)}n≥o using the direct system {Exti R(R/In,R)}n≥0 |
