Oxidation of alkanes catalyzed by manganese(III) porphyrin in an ionic liquid at room temperature

Abstract:Efficient oxidation of alkanes is achieved by using an electron-deficient manganese(III) porphyrin catalyst in combination with iodobenzene diacetate in an ionic liquid at room temperature; a high-valent manganese-oxo porphyrin complex (MnVO) was considered as the reactive oxidation intermediate.
