| Abstract: | Effective transient magnetic fields have been measured for single-electron carbon and oxygen ions traversing ferromagnetic Ni and Gd hosts, respectively. The deduced values ofK-shell polarization are well explained considering spin exchange scattering as a dominant mode of polarization. |
