| Abstract: | A new method for the determination of nicotine alkaloid has been developed. This method is based on the quantitative precipitation of the alkaloid with metals such as Cu2+, Pb2+, Zn2+ and Hg2+. Then either the equivalent or residual metal is determined.The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of nicotine in various types of tobaccos. |
