Determination of the cross section of the pion and nucleon interaction with iron nuclei in the energy range 0.5–5.0 TeV

Abstract:Direct measurements of the total cross sections of the cosmic ray pion, proton and neutron inelastic interaction with iron nuclei in the energy range 0.5–5.0 TeV are performed. The σπin, σpin and σnin dependences on energy are determined. The results are compared with the data obtained from accelerators as well as with multiple scattering theory conclusions.
