摘    要:本文在研究哨声波调制不稳定性时,除考虑由有质动力引起的密度变化和流速改变两个非线性效应外,还计及由弱相对论效应引起电子质量变化的非线性效应,得到了在形成孤子的条件、产生不稳定性的条件、和不稳定性增长率等方面与非相对论情况不同的结果。

Abstract:In this paper we investigate the raodulational instability of the whistler wave propagating along the external magnetic field. In addition to two nonlinear effects arising from perturbations of the particle density and the streaming velocity field through the action of the ponderomotive force, the nonlinear effect induced by the weak relativistic electron mass variations is also included. Some results about the conditions for the soliton formation and for the occurrence of the modulational instability are obtained as well as the growth rate of instability. They are somewhat different from those in the nonrelativistic case.
