简化字问题刍议

《汉字简化总表》的简化方式大致有四种。繁简字之间存在“一对一”和“一对多”两种关系。客观审视简化字,可谓有得有失。现阶段汉字的发展应以简化为主,汉字简化的关键不是减少笔划而是减少用字的数量。建议《规范汉字表》分成三类,确定各类的使用原则和范围,以弥补《汉字简化总表》的不足。

On the Problem of Simplified Chinese Characters

In the "General Table of Simplified Chinese Characters', there are four ways of simplifying. There exist two relations between simplified Chinese characters and the original complex form of Chinese characters, one is "one versus one", and the other "one versus many". Now examining the simplified Chinese characters) we seem to have losses as well as gains. Simplification should feature in the development of today' s Chinese characters. The importance of simplifying Chinese characters lies with the decrease of the uses of words rather than the decrease of the strokes. Therefore, the suggestion is the "Table of Standard Chinese Characters" be classified into three categories, with the usable principles and scopes of each categories determined, so as to make up for the "General Table of Simplified Chinese Characters ".
