Injection/suction effect on energy separation of compressible flows

Abstract:New effects accompanying energy separation on a permeable surface are revealed in numerically modeling turbulent boundary layer flows. It is shown, in particular, that stratification is considerably higher in the case of gas suction from a supersonic flow than in the case of injection. This effect is most clearly expressed for low-Prandtl-number gases.
