Generation of plasma waves by electron streams in a nonuniform solar corona

The one-dimensional process of propagation of a spatially bounded electron stream in the solar corona is simulated. It is shown that the background plasma inhomogeneity has a significant influence on the stream propagation and plasma-wave generation.
