| Abstract: | High resolution laser spectroscopy has been performed on mass-separated beams of barium ions, in a collinear geometry. Isotope shifts and hyperfine structures of the 5d 2 D 3/2→6p 2 P 3/2 transition and the 5d 2 D 5/2→6p 2 P 3/2 transition were measured. The results are interpreted in terms of core polarization effects. |
