| Abstract: | A new methed for benzaldehyde determination is given. It is based on the marked enhancing effect of benzaldehyde on the intensity of chemiluminescence generated during oxidation of gallic acid by alkaline hydrogen peroxide. The method gives a relative standard deviation of 3%, a throughput of 120 samples/h and a detection limit of 4. 4 X 10 -6 mol/L with instruments used. Chemiluminescence intensity is linearly proportional to benzaldehyde concentration from 2 X 10-5 to 0. 1 mol/L. Automation and remote control are possible. |
