| Abstract: | We define an inverse eigenvalue problem, which contains as special cases the classical additive and multiplicative inverse eigenvalue problems. Using some results on the distance of eigenvalues from matrix diagonal elements and Brouwer's fixed-point theorem, we give sufficient conditions for the solubility of the problem. |
