Abstract: | Iodine in iodine-containing organic compounds is determined by oxygen flask combustion followed by mercurimetric titration. The method is the same as that used in a collaborative study on the determination of bromine and chlorine with the exception that hydrazine is used as the reducing agent instead of alkaline peroxide and the type of buret to be used for the titration is specified. Accuracy and precision are well within the acceptable limits. |
