| Abstract: | Thorium is quantitatively extracted with 4% Amberlite LA-1 or LA-2 in xylene, from 0.01M malonic acid medium at pH 3.0 and stripped from the organic phase with 1M hydrochloric acid, then determined spectrophotometrically at 545 nm as its complex with thoron. It is separated from other elements by selective extraction and stripping. |
