| Abstract: | The oxidation of non-phenolic alkanoic acid derivatives to oxygen heterocycles was investigated; a new oxidative route to dienone lactones has been developed using a combination of hypervalent iodine(III) reagent, phenyliodine(III) bis(trifluoroacetate)(PIFA), and heteropoly acid (HPA). |
