Abstract: | Summary A global convergence proof of a Jacobi-type norm-reducing diagonalisation process for arbitrary real matrices is given. The convergence to a fixed matrix in Murnaghan form is obtained with the well-known exception of complex conjugate pairs of eigenvalues whose real parts are more than double. |
