Abstract:
There is a quantitative relation between vibration and radiation noise of a structure body. In this paper, the Helmholtz integral equation, which is the theoretical formula for sound radiation from a body in the free field, is discretized with the boundary element method and the exterior sound radiation field is calculated for a given specified surface velocity of elastic vibration of an arbitrarily shaped body. The characteristics of the sound field radiated from the body is therefore effectively predicted.
