Single Particle Trajectories in a Nonadiabatic Cusp Magnetic Field Configuration |
| |
Abstract: | Charged particle trajectories are numerically analyzed in a cusp magnetic field. One of the significant observations is that the initial phase of the particle is a critical parameter controlling the conversion of the parallel component of velocity to the perpendicular component. This conversion is also studied for different magnetic field gradient scale lengths in the cusp field region. |
