Abstract:The polymer supported bimetallic catalysts were prepared with H 2 or NaBH 4 as reducer. The polymer supported palladium cobalt bimetallic catalysts prepared with NaBH 4 as reducer show a remarkable synergic effect which leads to an obvious increase in the reactivity for the hydrogenation of nitrobenzene. The optimum catalytic activity can be achieved with a Co/Pd mole ratio of 0 5. The formation of the polymer protected Pd Co colloidal particles containing boron might be an explanation for this synergic effect.
