Oval-Shaped Spectrogram Formed by Randomly Oriented Refractive Index Gratings in Photorefractive Crystals
Abstract:The oval-shaped spectrogram can be formed by diffraction of light waves from randomly oriented photorefractive gratings in a crystal, along directions in which phase matching conditions are satisfied. The gratings are formed by amplification of scattered noise by two wave coupling. The experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis. A method for measuring the refractive indices of the birefringent photorefractive crystal is proposed.
