Abstract: | The grid refinement technique is a discrete iterative procedure which generates sequences of approximate solutions to two-point variational problems defined on continuous fields. The approximate solutions are obtained by calculating the optimal path through discrete grids constructed throughout the continuous field. Convergence of the series of discrete approximating paths is obtained by successively decreasing the mesh size of the grids. |
