Abstract: | Nickel oxide nanoparticles (25 nm) have been synthesized via decomposition of a new precursor nickel octanoate Ni(octa)2 in the presence of oleylamine (C18H37N) and triphenylphosphine (C18H15P), in mild conditions. To control the particle size and morphology, combination of C18H15P and C18H37N were applied as surfactants. In this process, oleylamine was used as both the medium and the stabilizing reagent. C18H37N and C18H15P play an important role in preventing aggregation of NiO nanoparticles. The products were characterized by XRD, SEM, TEM, FT–IR, and TGA. |
