Abstract:In this paper, a new viewpoint about thin shells theory is given. It is a non-homogeneous differential equation for deflection w about axisymmetrically bended problem for arbitrary shells of revolution, which simplify the calculation of shells of revolution.comparing with the original non-homogeneous differential equation, it's advantage is stated as:1.It is especially simple to satisfy the boundary conditions. Whereas, it is quite complex for the original one to satisfy the edge effect and the boundary conditions.2.It is direct to obtain the formulas of deflection and internal force of arbitrary shells of revolution. Whereas, for the original one, the edge effect and the non-moment state must first be calculated respectively and then superposed.3.The precision is same.
