Etude du mécanisme de la réaction de hantzsch des thiazoles. II. premiére étape: Action des cétones-α halogénées sur les thioamides

The mechanism of the Hantzsch heterocyclization reaction is studied. The α-haloketones behavior is an example of ambident reactivity. We show, by kinetic determinations and from literature data, that the interaction of α-haloketones with thioamides begins by a direct substitution of the halogen atom by the sulfur atom.
