Untersuchungen zum Nachweis ausreichender Stabilisierung von Calciumhydrogenphosphat-Dihydrat

Dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate used as dentifrice and dental polishing agent in tooth pastes tends to grow solid in aqueous mediums. To prevent this solidification trade products are mixed with stabilisers. To proof the stabilisation the improved T.G.A. set-test can be employed. The determination of the loss of ignition following up this test can be used for the quantitative determination of the degree of stabilisation. The examination of 15 samples of trade products has given a definite correlation between the loss of ignition after the improved T.G.A. set-test and the qualitative results of this test. By X-ray diffraction patterns it can be demonstrated that with the solidification a change from dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate to anhydride takes place.
