Magnetic circular dichroism of the 3A2g → 3T2g band of MgO: Ni2+ |

| Abstract: | The absorption and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) spectra of the 3A2g → 3T2g transition in Ni2+:MgO have been studied. MCD data confirm the magnetic dipole character of the zero-phonon lines. The phonon side bands can be explained in terms of an A1g lattice mode. |
