| Abstract: | Thermal degradation of polyimides was investigated using a selected polymer and a simple low molecular model viz. phthalimide. Based on the analysis of the degradation products, a mechanism for CO2 formation was proposed; it could be adapted to explain the thermal degradation processes for polyimides. |
