Fabrication of PDLC Grating and Its Optical Diffractive Properties
Abstract:Abstract A diffraction grating, which is composed of a polymer dispersed liquid crystal(PDLC) film and a periodic striped electrode structure has been fabricated. Due to PDLC electrooptical properties, this grating can cause a scattering or a diffraction of an incident light dependence upon the applied voltages, i. e. it is adjustable by electric field. Results show that the diffraction light intensities or diffraction orders can be controlled electrically. Moreover, the linear polarization state of the incident light can be changed into an elliptical polarization state.
