| Abstract: | The theory of Brillouin scattering in a prism-metal film-air (Kretschmann) geometry is analyzed and numerical estimates are given for a LaSF9 prism-Ag film-air configuration. Signal enhancement of several orders of magnitude is predicted under conditions of coupling to surface plasmon-like fields. |
