Rigidity of hyperstable complexes

Abstract:A module J over a ring 
$$\bigwedge$$
is said to be hyperstable when 
$$J \cong J \oplus {\bigwedge}^{\infty}$$
. Over a module M for which Ext
$$^{n+1}(M, \bigwedge) = 0$$
we show that the projective n-stems 
$${\mathcal{P}}$$
for which 
$$\pi_n({\mathcal{P}})$$
is hyperstable constitute a single homotopy type. Received: 17 November 2006
