| Abstract: | The research progress on carbonylation reactions of heterocycles (such as epoxides and aziridines) during the last 40 years is reviewed in the presence of transition metal complex catalysts. The reaction mechanisms of both carbonylative ring expansion and carbonylative polymerization are discussed in detail. The perspective on this research field is also suggested. |
