The wetting theory based on the interface layer model of physical interrace

This paper reports the investigation on wetting phenomenon according to the interface layer model of phys. interface. The concept of the wetting coefficient is proposed and the wetting coefficient is used to express the ability of wetting between phases. The methods for calculating the wetting coefficient are studied. The correctness of the Young equation and the calculating formula of wetting based on the inteface layer model of phys. interface is discussed. The calculated results of the wetting coefficient are checked with experimental data.
