Abstract: | The crystal structure of 2-aminopyridinium nicotinic acetate (C11H11N3O2) has been determined from X-ray diffraction data using MO Kα radiation. The crystals are monoclinic, P21/n, with a=8.787(9) Å, b=12.176(2) Å, c=10.866(2) Å, β=110.11(1)°, and z=4. There is an intermolecular hydrogen bonding between the amino group of the 2-aminopyridine and the oxygen atoms of the nicotinic acetate. Both the six-membered rings are planar. The cations and anions are linked together in chains along the 001] direction by N–HO hydrogen bonds. |
