| Abstract: | The random vibration of a beam impacting a spring-like stop is discussed. The mean square response and the frequency of impacts are obtained by an equivalent linearization. Reasonable agreement is obtained between these results and the results for an equivalent non-linear single-degree-of-freedom system. |
