Abstract:A new cubic equation of state for refrigerants is presented in this paper by means of a "hard-sphere fluid" model. The calculating deviations for thermodynamic properties of 52 refrigerants are discussed. Being compared with P-R & P-T equation, the new cubic equation can be used to evaluate the volumetric properties in the saturated region with a better accuracy for polar as well as non polar fluids. It is certain that this investigation is of value in studying and predicting the thermodynamic properties for alternative refrigerants.
