On the reaction of P4S10 with hexamethyldisilazane

P₄S₁₀ reacts with (Me₃Si)₂NH, to give SP(NHSi-Me₃)_x(SSiMe₃)_3−x, where x = 0–3. These species were shown by ³¹P NMR spectroscopy to subsequently form cyclic and linear condensation products. The molecular structure of a linear trimer (Me₃SiNH)P(S)(μ-NH)P(S)(NHSiMe₃)₂]₂, 12 , was authenticated by an X-ray diffraction study. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Heteroatom Chem 9:115–121, 1998
