Abstract: | This paper is concerned with a method for solving problems of a composite membrane with an arbitrarily shaped outer boundary and an arbitrarily shaped inner boundary. The boundary conditions and the conditions of continuity are satisfied directly by using a Fourier expansion collocation method which has been given by Nagaya. The general equation for finding the natural frequencies of the composite membranes has been presented. As examples, numerical calculations have been carried out for composite polygonal membranes, composite elliptical membranes and composite circular membranes with eccentric circular boundaries. |
