Some methyl substituted benzo[b]naphtho[2,3-d]thiophenes

Seven benzob]naphtho2,3-d]thiophenes have been prepared with methyl groups substituted in the 6,7, and 8-positions. These compounds are structurally related to the sulfur analogs of cholanthrene and methylcholanthrene.
