Synthesis of salan (salalen) ligands derived from binaphthol for titanium-catalyzed asymmetric epoxidation of olefins with aqueous H2O2

Abstract:A series of chiral salan (salalen) ligands, easily prepared from the aldehyde derived from chiral binaphthol, are effective ligands for the titanium-catalyzed asymmetric epoxidation of olefins with aqueous H2O2 as the oxidant. One of the titanium–salan complexes was determined by X-ray crystallography.
