| Abstract: | The method described is based on the reaction of tofisopam in dimethyl sulphoxide in the presence of an alkali metal hydroxide at 90–100°C to give 1-ethyl-4-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-6,7-dimethoxy-2-naphthol, which shows intensive fluorescence. The method is suitable for the determination of 5 × 10?8?5 × 10?5 g ml?1 of tofisopam. |
