Abstract: | Plasma desorption mass spectrometry has been applied tocharacterization of dodecanthiol-passivated gold nanoparticles. An overview of the experimental set-up and mass analyses for thenanoparticles prepared in different conditions are shown. Massdistributions were found to shift to higher mass regions withincreasing reaction temperature and reaction period. The resultsare consistent with those of transmission electron microscopyobservations, UV-visible absorption spectra and also with areported laser desorption mass spectrometry. |
