| Abstract: | Summary For a free boundary problem for a linear hyperbolic system in one space dimension with two unknowns we discuss a numerical algorithm which combines the method of characteristics and the front tracking method. We prove quadratic resp. linear convergence and illustrate this with numerical examples. |
