| Abstract: | Lewis acid initiated reaction of isoprene with PhSOCl proceeds in a ene fashion with the formation of 2-phenylsulphinylmethyl-1,3-butadiene. High pressure promoted addition produces Z-1-phenylsulphinyl-4-chloroadduct presumably [4+2]cycloaddition. |
