Abstract:	3,4-Dimethylphosphorin is prepared in five steps from 2,3-dimethylbutadiene and 2-phenyl-4,5-dimethylphosphorin; this synthetic scheme is formally equivalent to a [4+2] cycloaddition between 2,3-dimethylbutadiene and HCP.
