| Abstract: | A 3-alkyl-5-chloroisoxazole synthesis is described based on the cycloaddition of nitrile oxides to 1,1-dichloroethylene, an inexpensive dipolarophile. Substitution of the chloride in these adducts by various nucleophiles is also described. |
